‘Stranger Things’ season 3 episode count revealed

Small details about the third season of are starting to be released, but we wouldn’t bank on us knowing very much before season 3 premieres.

One thing that we now know is the episode count for the third season of the hit show. It has been confirmed that season 3 of will feature 8 episodes, which is one episode less than season 2, but is on par with season one, so not a massive difference.

As for what we can expect from season 3, we don’t know. Unfortunately, details about season 3 aren’t very clear, and we don’t expect to know much before Season 3 goes live on . Having said that, we know that production will begin around mid April, and there will be a time jump of one year.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, co-creators the Duffer Brothers said that they have to make slight time jumps due to the main cast obviously getting older. It will be around a year between Season 2 and production beginning on season 3, so the age of the main cast has to be taken into consideration. But, it also means they can’t jump into the action faster, so they have to strike the right balance.

“Even if we wanted to hop into the action faster, we couldn’t. Our kids are ageing. We can only write and produce the show so fast. They’re going to be almost a year older by the time we start shooting Season 3… [so] it forces you to do a time jump,” Matt Duffer said.

At present, there is no word on when season 3 will premiere.
