We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again… is possibly the busiest man in TV as he’s got quite a few shows under his wing, and when he’s not working on them he’s always thinking of some other hit format.

Speaking of a new hit format, it has been confirmed that has picked up TWO seasons of ’s new musical comedy series, . It has been reported that the online streaming giant managed to outbid the other big names who were vying to win the series, as let’s face it, when Murphy is on his game, he’s amazing.

Quite a few details have been released about the new series so far. We know that Murphy will team up with long-time collaborators, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, according to Deadline. Furthermore, the series will be lead by Broadway star, Ben Platt who will play the role of Payton. Payton is a wealthy young man from Santa Barbara who has ambitions to make it big in politics, but it’s his musical talents that will be put to good use.

Apparently, Barbra Streisand and Gwyneth Paltrow are being lined up to appear on the show as well. As Paltrow is currently engaged to Falchuk, we imagine the deal will be a little easier to win.

In true style, the series will be an Anthology Series, in which each season will be switched up. Whilst it wont be as dramatic as say, American Crime Story, or American Horror Story where the set-up is completely different each season, with each season of , we’ll see Payton embark on a different political race. This will make it interesting to see what Murphy does in terms of characters and the cast each season.

Some things are still unclear at the moment. Rumour has it that whilst Murphy will direct the pilot of the show, if Streisand does sign on the dotted line, she will also apparently direct some of the episodes. Platt, Streisand, and Paltrow will also be credited as producers on the show, if they do sign on, that is.

Let’s face it, Murphy knows how to do a good musical show – just look at the success of Glee. Let’s hope that this one takes off just as well as other shows in Murphy’s back catalogue.
