‘X Factor’ crowns its thirteenth winner

When the voting froze on Saturday night, Finland’s was leading the vote with 35.3%, with Matt trailing narrowly behind with 33.4%. fell at the final hurdle, after receiving 31.3% of the vote

When voting closed during Sunday’s show, Saara had 40.4% of the public vote, but Matt had secured 48.5% (leaving with the remaining 11.1%), therefore winning the show.

Discounting this Grand Final weekend, Matt came top of the most public votes (for five weeks) – he placed second once, and third three times. Saraa came top twice, second three times and third once – she was in the Sing-Off three times, and Matt once.

Sunday night’s Grand Final averaged 7m viewers, peaking at 8.3m. Saturday night’s show averaged 5.5m, peaking at 6.2m – in comparison, last year’s Sunday night show averaged 8.2m viewers, peaking at 9.9m.
