As the infamous interviews round loomed, last week’s episode of saw the remaining eight candidates meet Lord Sugar at the Olympic Park in London to be given their task..

In a bid to take a petit bite out of the snack market – which is worth a whopping £90 billion per year – the candidates had to create a healthy snack from scratch, and pitch them to ASDA, Tesco, Virgin Active and Holland & Barrett. The team that received the most orders would be declared the winner, and on the losing team at least one would be fired.

Team Versatile – Charlene, Gary and Joseph – lead by Charlene, created a nutritional bar named Rejuvenate. Team Connexus – Brett, Richard and Vana – lead by Brett, created vegetable crisps named V’s.

Back in the boardroom Karen and Claude revealed that neither team received any orders – an Apprentice first – leaving Lord Sugar with a dilemma.. After sending the candidates off to the Bridge Cafe to blame the failings of the task on one another, they returned to be told that Charlene and Brett would each be bringing someone back with them to the final boardroom – Charlene chose Gary for Versatile and Brett chose Richard for Connects.

Tonight, the remaining five candidates will be scrutinised by Mike Suiter, Claudine Collins, Linda Plant and Claude Littner. And, when all is said and done, only two will remain in the process..
